** Barkha Dutt : What a Fall !! **

I had a huge respect and regard for this lady, Barkha Dutt, till recently. She, I always thought, was a person of good integrity. But, the "Nira Radia Tapes" controversy has brought Barkha down in my esteem. In my opinion, this lady has fallen from grace. Next time when we watch her conducting any interview (if at all if she does) on any issues or goes about questioning moral values - no doubt, I will have a wry smile on my face. The Nira Radia tapes have only reiterated what this Nation stands for - corruption, filth, manipulation and poor governance at every level. We do have a person with civil cases against him entrusted with the responsibility of over seeing corruption cases in our country. Well, that is not something new - don't we have Ministers with criminal records?? All these underlines just one thing - quite a lot of people have got together to destroy this nation, come what may!! The legacy of Gandhi is gone long ago. Truth, Honesty, Integrity, Values, etc have all been forgotten. Our future is very clear from what we have as our present. We do not want our enemy nation to destroy us - we are capable of it ourselves. Jai Hind.

More than the Nira Radia tapes, I 'm stunned that you respected Barkha Dutt.

Barkha Dutt belongs to the pseudo-secular brigade and actively abused Hindus/Hinduism in every forum and in every opportunity she got. Her news items were completely one-sided, always projecting BJP in bad light.

Why nothing about Wikileaks...?? United States has been completely exposed by Julian Assange. Hope that is an important event that shocked the world. Why don't you comment on that?

Mr Ganesh, first, I can comment only on items that are close to my heart. This is true for any blog post, and in fact any comment. Thats what prompts you to comment in the first place.

Second, I can comment only on the subject matter of the blog post or items related to the subject matter. WikiLeaks is tangential to this post. The reader would naturally be thinking about the information revealed by the tapes, not about the US defence secrets.

Only certain people like you artificially correlate the tapes to WikiLeaks for argument sake.

Mr.Shankar, my question was towards Gowri.

Insofar as the Wikileaks are concerned - what is in there that you find shocking ? No country, including China, is Buddha here. When it comes to relationship between two countries, "Formality" and "falsehood" is the base. So, I am not at all shocked by Wikileaks. It is just that some of the secrets of US has come out. If every country's can of worms is open - may be, we would say that what has been revealed by Wikileaks is just NOTHING !! :)

Thanks, Gowri.

Very reently I read that Lata Mangeshkar has told in some interview that Sachin should be given Bharat Ratna....!! I dont know if I am too idealistic BUT it could help in recognising humility, integrity and genius that are exhibited for a consistent period - I want to add few more names like AR Rahman, Vishy...!!
Recognising people mainly for their values more than their achievements - is bit dicey and dangerous but I think it is much better than thriving upon the memories of Gandhi....!!

Oops..missed two things.
My comments should have started with "very recently"...a spelling mistake....!!
And, forgot to appreciate you for changing the lay out of the blog to much simpler and sleek design....a non-recognition mistake.....!!
