** Maoists **

Extremists (Maoists - Naxals - call whatever the name u would prefer to) - have taken custody of a huge region in West Bengal and the security forces are fighting a tough battle to weed them out. At the time of writing this blog, the security forces have captured a majority of the area and the Maoists are now calling for ceasefire !! All these terror groups do adopt this "ceasefire" technique when they are cornered and down on their knees. Govt should not pay any heed to such silly requests. "Corner them and weed them out" - should be the goal. The Central Govt took the right decision to ban the Maoists group!! I was only surprised when the West Bengal's ruling CPI(M) party did not support the ban and is of the view that the ban does not serve any purpose and they want a political solution !! (If you thought that any 'political solution' is in the hands of the ruling State Govt - please take the back seat !! ) !! Naxalism is taking a monstrous proportion in our nation and it is high time that the Govt acts.

Secodly, for all those who were till now claiming that "West Bengal" is the model state under the principles of "Communism" - this "Lalgarh" episode should serve as an eye opener. "Communism" is a FAILED principle - be it, Russia -or- our own West Bengal !! Communist party is, unfortunately, a party with so many "right" people pursing "failed" principles !! It was good to hear their Gen Secy say that they would take a re-look at their Industrial policy !! If "Communism" is the stumbling block for so many good people, it is high time that they review their entire policy than just the "Industrial policy" !! Our nation needs "good" people pursuing "right" principles.

1. Extremists have taken custody of a huge region West Bengal - Bigger areas than this are under the Maoists control in Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Andhra. In those areas, no political party dare to fight the Maoists. They just pay them.

2. I was only surprised when the West Bengal's ruling CPI(M) party did not support the ban and is of the view that the ban does not serve any purpose and they want a political solution !! (If you thought that any 'political solution' is in the hands of the ruling State Govt - please take the back seat !! ) - You should appreciate this stand. This is taken even when they are at the receiving end. Yes, it should be fought politically. The Maoists are not alone. They have the support of a section of the people. Banning them will give them the sympathy. We need to address the social, economical issues faced by the people.

3. ---- Nobody has claimed that the West Bengal is the model state under the principles of Communism. Communism was not implemented in West Bengal. You cannot apply communism in one state of India. The Indian Constitution does not allow that. Even by getting two-thirds majority in the Parliament, you may not be able to bring Communism in a country. The people should be willing. This is the basic principle for bringing communism. Just by bringing the Communist Party into power, Communism cannot come in. It requires revolution. And the revolution requires the people. We understand that there is a long way to go. Till then, we will be fighting within the hostile capitalist system. West Bengal government functions under this capitalist system. It has no mandate to change that.

4. As far as the Russia concerned, the living standard of the russian people is yet to reach the 1989 level. Majority of the Russians are living in poverty. Since, it is under the capitalist system no media will highlight those problems. Poverty, Hunger, Unemployment, Illiteracy are all part and parcel of capitalist system.

5. Gowri, Why nobody cries about Vidarbha farmers... Lakhs of vidarbha farmers have committed suicide... In your blog itself, I could not find a word on Vidarbha.... Why I think the word Agriculture never figured in your writings....

6. Where are we heading...??

P.S : On Maoists strategy of collecting amount, I have posted an article on www.ganeshwrites.blogspot.com Please read that.

Dear Subbi sir,

Thanks for your comments. Whether I agree with you or not - your points are always thought provoking and makes an interesting analysis.

I honestly do not know whether other State Govts pay the Maoists. So, I do not want to offer my comments. But, if it so, that is real sad situation. But that does not give an excuse to the West Bengal CPI(M) party which has been in power in the State for so long ! If the model of governance has been good - why such a situation?

I agree with the point that a political situation is needed. But not at the timing ! Our present aim is to fire and throw the Maoists out. They are terrorists and should be dealt so !! Finish them and then let us talk about a political solution.

If you say that the present Russia is not in a good healthy state - I see the erstwhile "communism" as the root cause of it - not the other way around !! I do not see the way as you do !! The whole world knows that the "communism" principle failed in Russia and in a few other countries as well.

About farmers - I wrote on the subject long ago (of course, not exactly on the lines you mentioned). Please refer the link below. I heard that for every 6 minutes a farmer commits suicide in India. That is real sad and pathetic situation. I agree, its shameful.

Again, thanks for your meaningful comments.

Dear Gowri,

I followed the link you have provided. But it says Page not found. No problem, I take your word for granted. Do you think that a system in which lakhs of farmers are committing suicide and nobody bothers about it is better??

From treasuries of Nagaland itself, the money goes to NCSN(IM).

Again and again, you are trying to put the words into my mouth. "If the model of governance"... West Bengal governnance cannot be a model of governance. Because it functions within the parameters of capitalism. With this system, even if you rule for 100 more years, you cannot solve the problems. That is the system.

Just compare the Russia of 1916 and Russia of 1920, you will know the difference. The communism has brought cent percent literacy, removed poverty, no unemployment... The deviations from the communist principles brought the crisis. One should not forget that the problem faced by the United States now is worse than what Soviet Union had faced in 1989. Here, more committed capitalist actions have brought in the crisis.

//The whole world knows//.... This claim is deceptive. The Latin America has shifted to left policies. Africa, except few countries who are controlled by America, are moving from the capitalist policies. Europe, the guardians of capitalism have proved more corrupt than anybodyelse; e.g. Italy's Berlusconi.

As far as the farmers suicide, not only the farmers of Vidarbha, Andhra, Karnataka, Punjab, Gujarat and even Kerala farmers also committed suicide. The suicides were stopped in Kerala only when the CPI(M) led LDF came to power. They had announced series of relief measures to help the farmers to come out from the financial crisis.

Anyway, I must thank you for onething... I am getting sharpened...

Thank you, once again
